Soft Surface Flooring/Carpeting

One of the most appealing aspects about carpeting is that there is no other type of flooring that is as soft and feels as good as carpeting does under our bare feet. One of the most desirable rooms to have carpeting is in the bedroom and in children’s rooms. Many people also like to have carpeting in their family room or living room because the carpeting gives the room a feeling of relaxation and comfort.

The fact that it is so soft makes carpet a particularly safe flooring choice. With hardwood, a trip or fall can result in injuries and broken objects. With carpet, though, you have a cushion running across the entire room, making damage from an accident much less likely. This can be a strong consideration in homes with small children or elderly residents.

A major complaint about hardwood floors is the sheer amount of noise that they can make at times. When installed on upper levels, people below often complain that they can hear every footstep. An old installation may also squeak in certain spots. With carpeting, though, the surface of the entire floor is padded and insulated so that noise won’t easily pass up or down.

Soft-surface Care

When it comes to your carpet, the most important thing you can do to keep it clean is just give it a thorough vacuum regularly. It helps to remove dirt particles and keep them from getting embedded deeper into your carpet. You may need to vacuum high traffic areas as much as daily, and avoiding wearing shoes goes a very long way to keeping dirt out. Most of the dirt in our homes get tracked in on shoes one way or another, so keep them out! It’s also a good idea to have a deep professional cleaning does every 12-18 months, again depending on your traffic.

Using doormats adds another protective barrier, keeping even more dirt out. Furniture can also harm your carpet, it’s a good idea to use glides underneath your furniture legs and to move it around from time to time just to give your carpet a rest and avoid permanent fiber damage. If any spills happen, they need to be taken care of immediately! Soft-surface care IS important!

A Floorer That You Can Truly Rely On.

Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring (LVP)

Unlike laminate flooring, Luxury vinyl plank flooring is 100% waterproof. You don’t have to worry about a dishwasher leaking on the kitchen floor and ruining the floor, kids spilling on the floor and having to clean it up right away, or pet accidents. For a family with young children, a waterproof floor can be indispensable. If you have kids and carpeted floors, you often don’t find out about a spill on the carpet until you step on it. Even worse is if you have pets. We won’t talk about finding a mess a pet left on the carpet.

LVP is luxury vinyl flooring that looks like wood planks in everything from color to texture. Surface textures often include the look of scraping or embossing, which dramatically heighten the realism. Also like wood, planks may be installed in sophisticated ways—in brick fashion, diagonally, and so on. The result can be absolutely stunning.

Water-proof Flooring

One of the biggest benefits of luxury vinyl plank (lvp) flooring is its water proof quality.
Now, we are not talking about being water-resistant, which is just another way of saying it just takes longer for water to seep in and destroy the flooring. No, LVP is 100% waterproof. You can soak LVP under water for 24 hours straight (we’ve done it) and the LVP will look exactly the same as it did before you soaked it.

So, with modern LVP that we sell at Flooring Company Raleigh, you get flooring that is incredibly easy to install, high in quality AND appearance. We are sure that is you come in and take a look at the LVP we have in stock, you will be amazed at how incredible it looks and also how inexpensive it is. Modern vinyl flooring is no longer in only rolls or square tiles. It is now utterly high quality and gives hardwood flooring a run for its money. The quality and appearance of hardwood flooring is so high now that people are using it all areas of their home, including living rooms, bedrooms and kitchens.

LVP Care

When it comes to caring for your luxury vinyl floor, it mostly just comes down to common sense and keeping it clean. From the moment your floor is installed, try to keep any surface debris off of it, if you don’t you could risk scratching it right off the bat! Cleaner wise, we recommend you use pH neutral cleaners, don’t use any soaps or steam EVER on your vinyl floor. The floor of course CAN stand up to a lot of water, but it’s best to keep it dry as much as you can.

When you’re moving furniture, we recommend you place some kind of hard surface between your floor and furniture. Sliding things can cause very deep scratches, and in the end it’s best to just carry anything you need to move. Even if you have felt pads on chair legs, they can become abrasive over time and need to be replaced. LVP flooring is extremely tough, but it’s also extremely important that you care for your LVP floors.

Hardwood Flooring

Adding hardwood floors to your home is an excellent way of adding beauty, durability, and a touch of elegance to your home for a very long time to come. We understand how important it is to have attractive and well-functioning flooring in your home, so we ensure that we only sell the absolute highest quality flooring in our show-room. Hardwood floors can come in all kinds of different species, colors, styles, and sizes. Different floors that come from different climates will have different different harnesses, feels, and looks. We are very familiar with our floors, especially hardwood, by far one of the most popular flooring options in the country. Hardwood created a feeling and appearance in a room that other types of flooring can only attempt to emulate. Your floors are, literally & figuratively, the aesthetic base of your rooms. They offset the walls, accent your furniture, and are essential to your home’s functionality and longevity.

Hardwood floors are the go-to attractive flooring option. But they also have a very long lifespan, they’ll last for years and years in your home. In opposition to laminate or other artificial floorings that are made to LOOK natural, our hardwood floors are 100% natural and made entirely of high quality timbers. Not only are hardwood floors a fantastic affordable option that adds value to your home, but they are also harvested from renewable sources and since they’re totally natural, they’re healthy for your home and family. The hardwood floors we sell are generally a lifetime product – they’ll be with you and your home for the long haul.

Wood Floor Cleaning & Maintenace

You can trust without a doubt, once you have the hardwood flooring you bought from our showroom installed, it will look absolutely wonderful. But over time, things like scuffs and spills will begin to take a toll. As tough as hardwood floors are, you do need to take regular care of them. The more little things you know about maintaining your hardwood floors, the cleaner you can keep them and they longer they’ll look good! Our first big point that you need to remember, your entranceways are the first line of defense. Strategically placed rugs and mats can collect a lot of dirt that could end up on, or scratch your floors. It may sound like common sense, but make sure you use rugs meant for hardwoods and that you clean them off regularly. If you’ve ever beat out a rug you know just how much dirt they can collect.

Make sure you have decent cleaning tools in your home, a nice vacuum and broom alone can hold a lot of cleaning power. You should be able to get most stubborn messes up with a moist cloth and some scrubbing. One thing you do want to AVOID is using copious amounts of water on your floor. Wood expands when it gets wet so mopping it for example, can cause swelling and cracking. If you have any bigger messes and need deep cleaning, make sure you call in a pro so you don’t accidentally cause any further damage to your floor. You’ll want to avoid anything sharp or pointed on your floors like wearing heels or long pet claws, as they can easily cause scratches. Lastly, and you may have never thought of this, but sunlight can cause a lot of fading and damage. Keep curtains closed or get UV coated windows when you can.
